BDD (Blended and Distributed Delivery) is again the buzz word around the office. Our TAFE Institute is presenting at the Learning Technologies conference as part of the BDD Project between BNIT and BRIT (Barrier Reef Institute). So this post is about how I got involved when one day Glenn called me into his office excited about FlashCasting.

Are blog names important?
We were still in our bloggers of the round table with non printing whiteboard meeting and we came to the point where we needed to decide the 2 blog names. Glenn, Nick and I thought that the name was important and needed to be catchy but still informative. Going with our theme of the blender we thought that ‘blend’ was a keyword (for us anyhow).

The whiteboard

September 15 marks the date for the inaugural meeting for team Learning Solutions bloggers. In Glenn’s room, Glenn, Nick and I sit at a round table armed with a whiteboard. Glenn is legendary around the office for his whiteboard skills. It is one of those ones that you press the button and the board rotates to the other side and you can print out the contents. Only problem is that this one fails to print. So armed with cutting edge equipment we attempt to start our journey of creating the blend.

The blog about the blog

This is an institution blogging, it all started when Glenn (my manager) called me (a multimedia designer) into his office for a meeting about wikis, Glenn wanted a wiki, he wasn’t totally sure why or how but he thought having one would be a good/neat idea. Not necessarily because it would be useful to us or our students, just so we have an angle on it. I really couldn’t think of any reason why we needed a wiki, so I said hey let’s blog instead, and we set about getting excited about that.
